Newick is a medium sized village situated on the A272 in the Low Weald of East Sussex, almost mid-way between the towns of Haywards Heath and Uckfield. The village is situated 9 miles from Lewes, the county town of East Sussex, and lies within the area served by Lewes District Council.
At the centre of the village is the Village Green, surrounded by houses & shops in a variety of styles and ages. There are three pubs, a Tandoori restaurant and a café.
In addition, the village boasts a health centre, community centre, modern primary school, and a large village hall.
Over 30 clubs and societies offer a wide range of pastimes, and the village playing fields have a sports pavilion with facilities and pitches for many sports and activities, such as football, cricket, rugby and stoolball.
